upgrading KDE in RH7.3

Hi,
Anyone successfully (or unsuccessfully) updated KDE running on RH LInux
7.3/XwinNMR 3.5 from KDE 3.0 to 3.1 or 3.2?
I'd like to use K3B for CD/DVD burning and would like to keep the same
version as that running on our other Linux boxes.
Alternatively, what are other good (freeware) burning packages (CD,
DVD+/- R/RW/RAM)? which are less window-manager dependent?
