NMR Facility Manager
The University of California, Irvine invites applications for the
position of Biomolecular Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Facility
Manager: research is primarily in biomolecular and solid-state NMR at
800 MHz. The Facility Manager will provide technical and
administrative supervision, oversee the NMR facility operation, solve
structures using NMR analysis, collaborate with faculty on
applications of NMR in their research, train users and perform the
maintenance, upgrading, and financial management of the facility.
Fostering a well-maintained and efficiently run NMR facility will
allow opportunities for independent research. A Ph.D. in Chemistry or
Biochemistry with strong background in modern NMR spectroscopy or
equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Familiarity with NMR hardware, high-field magnet operation and
maintenance, and experience in solving solution structures of
proteins, peptides, or other biopolymers using NMR methods is
preferred. The position is available August 1, 2006.
