Hi.
I have a Redhat system running TopSpin 1.3 pl8 with about 280 users.
I am finding periodically that users complain that the desktop takes
a very long time to load when they first log on. My quick fix was to
recreate their home directory, which fixed the issue but lost the
current dataset (even though I retained their TopSpin preferences).
This is an irritation as I don't like the data browser in TopSpin.
So I set out to find the cause of the problem, and it seems to be a
large file called 'kipperrc' in homedir/.kde/share/config
This seems to be some sort of clipboard.
So my question is 'is it safe to disable klipper completely?' or is
it important for correct operation of TopSpin? And if so, any
recommendations on how to kill klipper efficiently/
I don't need any other non-NMR applications to run on this computer,
if there would be wider effects.
Thanks,
Phil.
