XWinNMR, SIMPLEX shimming problems

Dear Bruker Users,

I am using the NT platform version of XWinNMR and the SIMPLEX automation
routine does not work on FID area. No-one at Bruker UK has been able to
find out why, so far.

Any ideas?

There seems to be a "SIMPLEX on FID area" routine lurking in the bottom of
the current "tune" application, but the only information I can find about
it is in the "example.bsms" tune file, which is sparse and obscure.

Does anyone know where to find fuller instructions on its use, or have any
experience with it?

A tune file with "USE_FIDAREA LOCK on" followed by "SET" and "SIMPLEX"
instructions certainly sets off a gs and twiddles the shims, but I haven't
been able to see much improvement, yet. (Probably because I'm setting quite
inappropriate parameters!)

Jim Bloxsidge.
