Looking for Hard Disk replacement (MSL300)

I think that the Hitachi DK512 drive on our MSL300 has had a number of head
crashes judging from the numerous dropouts around cylinders 127 and others.
I have been so far unsuccesful in making any human contact with Bruker and
my voice messages has gone unanswered (The poor response from Bruker
recently is another subject).

I have 2 questions for the group:

1. Are there other suppliers of the Hitachi drive or anything compatible
with the disk controller?

2. The disk had 2 partitions. I'm now unable to access D2, the second
partition (corrupt directory). I get a read error when I try to restore the
directory. I can't enter this sector in the error map because D2 has a
corrupt directory. Is there another way to recover this partition or read
files from this partition?
