I hope Jack Miller doesn't mind me quoting a line from a private mail from him
to me but I would like to stir this discussion a little more, and ask why we
don't have cross platform development of WinNMR to SGI?... see below (or does
Bruker believe SGI are on their way out too ;-)) .

True for a new product - could even be platform independent such as Java (but I
don't really want to open that can of worms). Porting an existing product as
complex as WinNMR to a new multi-platform environment could be time consuming;
but if was done we might see WinNMR running Native on an SGI and Bruker could
abandon development of XWINPLOT.
