Malcolm,

The PC-X package Hummingbird Exceed, which Bruker recommends for running
XWINNMR on Windows NT, has a VERY nice accessory called "FTP for Windows
Explorer" which makes it very easy to transfer files from the UNIX box (in
our case, an X-32) to the PC and vice versa. Once you set up an FTP profile
for the remote computer on your PC, the remote files show up on your PC in
an Explorer window. You can then just drag and drop files and directory
trees from the remote computer to your PC or vice versa without having to
TAR them. Hummingbird's URL is:

Subject: NFS for NT( server ) to Unix

Dear fellow users
Is anyone able to help sort out a problem I have. I
need to be able to connect a file server running Windows NT4 server to an SG
Indy on an AMX-400. The reason I need this is to be able to download data
from the AMX to the server for offline data processing. Bruker's convoluted
data structure precludes using a standard FTP program, so NFS immediately
comes to mind. The question therefore, is - Is there a suitable NFS program
that I could buy that would do the job?
I have found one program by Xlink, called Omni-NFS Dual Gateway
v4.1 - Is this any good, or are there better ones to choose from? Or
alternatively what other transfer methods are available?
What is used by the rest of the Bruker fraternity to keep meddling
hands off the acquisition instruments?
