intermittant locking problem on Avance spectrometer

Dear Bruker users,

I have been having the following intermittent problem more and more
frequently on an AVANCE 300 spectrometer running XWINNMR 3.0b on a
WINDOWS 2000 PC.

I insert a good sample and type "lock", select the correct solvent (with
good values in the EDLOCK table). I can see all of the lock parameters
being called in and can briefly see a good deuterium signal in the lock
display before the SWEEP is turned off. The spectrometer will not lock.
If I check the field value it is about 450 units lower than the value
that was called in from the EDLOCK table. Why the wrong field value?
And why am I having this problem? The problem will SOMETIMES be solved
by restarting the BSMS2 but not always. I don't think the problem is
with the software version since I have been using it without problems
for 4 years. Any ideas?
