Bruker BGU-II problems

Folks,

Sorry for the cross-posts,

We appear to have a semi-operating Bruker BGU-II unit at the moment.

Its on Bruker AMX-II console running XWIN-NMR 2.6 on an SGI, connected to a
200 MHz WB magnet.

After looking in more detail this afternoon, it seems like the unit is
getting power, but many functions are deactivated.

What does work:
- the green PULSE light on the x, y and z channels, when a pulse is received
from the GCU/GCON board
- the green/red current monitor bars, when a fake signal is sent in
externally
- the temperature monitor failure light (whether or not the gradient coil is
connected to the PT100 cable)

What doesn't work:
- any of the pre-emphasis/B0 comp enable/disable keypads
- temperature display when gradient coil is connected (fault light remains)
- analog output on twinax cables

In XWIN-NMR:
- setpre fails (usually a core dump)

On the SGI:
- the grad test module in /u/prog/bin seems to re-initialize the BGU-II,
self-check it, enable or disable all its functions, without any problem or
error messages

Has anyone ever encountered similar strange behavior, or have any ideas??
Usually when the unit receives power, but certain features fail, it can be a
long road...

Many Thanks,

Ross Mair
