A position for an NMR spectroscopist (the official title of this position is Senior Research Specialist) is open immediately at the Campus NMR Facility, University of Missouri, Columbia. The Facility operates a Varian Inova 600 (with cold probe), a Bruker DRX500, DRX300WB with solids accessories and a Bruker ARX250. Additions of a 400/500 MHz spectrometer and a cryoprobe are planned in the next 18 months. The Facility is supervised by a faculty director and will be staffed by two (including this position) Ph. D. level staff members, Main responsibilities of this position are to service the spectrometers, develop and implement new techniques, help and train users, and to participate in collaborative (with users) research. Independent research is also encouraged. A Ph. D. with extensive experience in NMR spectroscopy and its applications in either chemical, life or material sciences is required. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualification.
