The CCB EDI committee warmly invites you to join Dr. Tricia Carmichael in a lunchtime EDI conversation to take place on Wednesday, April 26 from 11:30-1:30 in ABB 163. You’ve likely attended “EDI 101” events in the past and we want to stress that this conversation will move beyond that, focusing on issues specific to CCB.

Our departmental EDI survey in Fall 2022 showed that people are committed to inclusion but sometimes worry about saying/doing the wrong thing or being misinterpreted, and often feel overwhelmed by other obligations. This event is meant to help reduce those barriers and is a great opportunity to engage in conversations around EDI in academic and research contexts in a supportive environment. Lunch will be provided for this in-person only event.

Our facilitator is Tricia Carmichael, a professor of surface and materials chemistry at the University of Windsor and the Chair of their Faculty of Science EDI Taskforce.
