McMaster Academic Planner

The McMaster Academic Planner is a multipurpose tool used to educate prospective and current Science students on the admission requirements, course information, program options as well as research, experiential and cooperative education opportunities available in the Faculty of Science.

The M.A.P. will help to:

Clarify grade 12 admission requirements for entry to each of the seven Level I Science programs.

Explain the difference between ‘Gateway’ program options (Chemical & Physical Sciences I, Environmental & Earth Sciences I, Life Sciences I, Mathematics & Statistics I) which lead to a variety of Honours programs beginning in Level II; AND ‘Direct-entry’ program options Honours Integrated Science I, Honours Kinesiology I, and Medical Radiation Sciences I.

Assist with Level I course planning in preparation for Level II Honours program selection and application.

Direct students to upper level course/program requirements for all programs in the Faculty of Science as listed in the online Undergraduate Calendar.

Provide information about the Departments and Schools in the Faculty of Science, as well as outline the Level II Honours Program offerings for each area.

Educate students about potential experiential education, co-op, and career opportunities.
