We are pleased to announce the first to two MacLean lectures featuring Professor Stephen L. Buchwald, Camille Dreyfus Professor of Chemistry Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Prof. Buchwald’s research combines elements of organic synthesis, physical organic chemistry and organometallic chemistry to devise catalytic processes of use in solving problems of fundamental importance.
Prof Buchwald has received numerous awards for his innovative work including the prestigious Wolf Prize (2019; shared with John Hartwig), the Roger Adams Award in Organic Chemistry (2018), the William H. Nichols Medal (2016), and the Linus Pauling Medal (2014). He is a member of both the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Science.
