Radiochemistry group hosts UAB Professor Suzanne Lapi

Our Radiochemistry group had the privilege of welcoming Professor Suzanne Lapi from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) back to McMaster for a seminar on February 29, 2024. The seminar, titled “From Isotopes to Images: Applications of PET Radiometals for Nuclear Medicine,” highlighted the significant advancements and applications of PET radiometals in the field of nuclear medicine, showcasing the ongoing partnership and shared knowledge in this cutting-edge area of medical research.
UAB, McMaster, the Centre for Probe Development and Commercialization (CPDC), and Fusion Pharmaceuticals have united to advance radiopharmaceutical development, a rapidly expanding field in healthcare. The collaboration has initiated the International Medical Isotope Collaboration, which encompasses research, training, patient impact, and commercialization, through a two-year pilot program. This initiative, led by Professors Lapi and John Valliant (McMaster/Fusion), aims to establish a premier international program in medical isotopes and nuclear medicine.
